Being an educator for over 15 years, I’ve seen how important a strong education is for our children’s futures. I have also watched as more kids struggle with anxiety, depression, & addictive behaviors. These issues moved me to run for office.
Education
We must invest in our teachers and provide them with the necessary resources and training to implement proven educational strategies that engage and inspire students. By fostering a supportive and innovative learning environment, we can help our students excel academically and prepare them for successful futures.
Investing in North Dakota
Investing in the future of North Dakota means creating an environment where businesses can thrive and our residents want to live and work. We must focus on policies that attract new businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and encourage innovation.
Limited Government
Our government should focus on its core responsibilities, such as ensuring public safety and maintaining essential infrastructure, while allowing free enterprise to drive innovation and economic growth.
Behavioral Health
Mental health and substance abuse issues are affecting countless families, and it’s time we address these challenges head-on. I am committed to developing behavioral health programs, expanding access to mental health care, and supporting initiatives that provide early intervention and ongoing support.
Protecting Life
I am committed to protecting the sanctity of life at all stages, beginning at conception. I believe in politics that uphold the dignity and value of human life.
Law Enforcement
Ensuring our local law enforcement have the resources, training, and support they need to effectively and safely perform their duties is very important to me. I will work to enhance public safety and foster a strong partnership between local law enforcement and the state legislature.
About George Roughead
I am proud to call North Dakota home for over 30 years and wouldn’t have it any other way. I am a UND grad with a Composite Social Studies degree in Education, and currently teach at Capstone Classical Academy, where 15 years of coaching turned a love for sports into a passion for education. When not grading papers, you’ll find me playing video games, getting lost in a good book, and hiking trails.
I am happily married to my wife, Jordan. She is in a PhD program for Occupational Therapy at NDSU and currently works at Valley Christian Counseling and Wellness, making a real difference in our community. Her dedication inspires me every day, and together, we’re committed to improving the health and future of our community.
